RE: Alias Exec LINE FEED

I fooled around with this for awhile. My first guess was that you might be
able to use ctrl-v enter, but that didn't work. I also tried different
delimiters on the command line, like ; and ,

The best I could do was to create a file on a tftp server called alias.txt
with the text:
Int s0
Disc alias worked!

Then I made an alias
Alias exec zz copy tftp://192.168.0.3/alias.txt run

The only problem is that this prompts you for "destination filename
[running-config]?" So I can get it down to zz <enter> <enter>. You could
have a whole set of canned procedures in this manner. It really wouldn't be
half bad if you could knock out the filename question. Any thoughts?

This procedure only works for config changes and requires access to a tftp
server, so I think it is of limited utility for our common goal. I mean, on
the test you could make a router a tftp server, but how do you create and
write an arbitrary text file to it? Many problems of this sort are better
addressed by cut & paste or by send *.

Mike - interesting thought!

Regards,

Brent

Subject: Alias Exec LINE FEED

Is there anyway to send a LINE FEED through an alias command, so I can do
this:

alias exec zz conf t <cr> no logg cons
alias exec xx conf t <cr> logg cons

This would be cool!

Thanks, Mike
