In my experience University policy is very rough and subject to
interpretation. Is the class in the 'core' curriculum or is it
supplementary? Sometimes he professor will excuse you from attending class,
homework, etc if you can pass the comprehensive final exam. The School wants
its money, however. As far as receiving credits for the CCIE, probably not,
but I bet it'll guarantee your admission!
