PIX and ports above 5000

Does anyone know of issues with PIX 6.1 and ports above 5000?
Even though there was an access list statement saying allow anything from
that computer to this computer, we were having trouble with an app that used
a port above 5000. It didn't work. Once we opened up the whole firewall, it
worked. Any help?
