Hey, roman numerals is an interesting method of numbering... Only
problem is what is 5,000 in roman numerals? Hmmmm. :)
A for the humble lesson, I remember that well! Failing the first time
is a rite of passage thing. As I came back to the office feeling pretty
down, one of my co-workers simply looked at me with all the compassion
in the world and said, "Oh look... You're human!" And he was happy
about that :)
So like Brian said, you're still ahead of the curve, and it's just a
matter of statistics. From what I hear, the record is taking 23 times
to pass... So as long as you're better than that, life is good! (and
personally, I would have decided that I wasn't meant to be a CCIE LONG
before 23 times!)

Todd,
Don't worry the average lab attempts per candidate is 2.7 times. If you
get it on your second shot you'll still be ahead of the curve.
Good Luck,

Hi all,
I took the lab yesterday in RTP and went down in a blaze of glory. It
was a
magnificent sight to see!!!
Actually, I walked out of there feeling as if I had done "okay" on the
exam.
I had given myself a pat on the back for just getting through the darned
thing. I had no delusions or anything, though. I knew that I had blown
it
out of my "rectal crevice".
So I've gotten attempt #1 out of the way. I was hoping to pass it on
the
first try, but it didn't happen. This CCIE thing is proving to be a
lesson in
humility.
Regards,
Todd Carswell
