2. Is the IP and the default gateway in the same subnet?.

1)
When configuring a token ring switch for ring numbers,
i know you enter the ring number for each CRF or just
leave it at auto. But if you decide to enter the ring
number, do you enter in decimal or in Hex.
I just have a little doubt about it.
2) If you configure an ip and default gateway for the
switch, i think i should be able to ping the default
gateway from the switch. I have not been able to get
this to work. Am i right?
