I never said the industry was good, I just told you what collegues and
friends of mine are being paid in Australia.

Obviously its different for everyone, I saw a post on Seek for a CCNP/MCSE
role at a Telco for $110k. Its still there....

Cheers

Subject: RE: CCIE Salary (London and Sydney)

Kris,

I been contracting to a major Telecom carrier in Sydney for more than a
year
now. They have (like many others)laid off more than 500 people before
christmas, followd by another 200 after new year and 300 more are coming in
couple of weeks time. The people who kept their jobs have taken 30% cut in
their pay, happily I might add that they at least kept their pay cheque
including me, and I only have CCNA and MCSE (CCIE still in the air)

What I am saying is that things are far from all right in the industry at
the moment unfortunately. But at the same token it is only fair to say that
we are probably better off than our colleagues in the US or UK from what
I've been hearing.

I hope after all the time and expense that we're all going through, at
least
we can recover some of it back, fingers crossed.

Good luck to every one.

Ya

My friend, the experienced CCNP got his position some 4months ago...

Unsure if that counts, look hard enough and you will find what you want.

I think these people already have their jobs. But I am talking about new
CCIE's. Market is really bad.

Well...it is hard to say, I live in Sydney, and know a couple of CCIE's who
enjoy watching morning TV shows like Operah and Ricky Lake.

If you are lucky you can get 80-100K local dollars
