A quick piece of advice for what it is worth and which helped me along.
Don't get caught up in OT debates while you are studying. You will be
better
served studying something rather than debating the authoring skills of a
particular writer. Also, different people are served better by different
authors as we all need to learn in different ways. I guess this will
generate some flames, but this is my opinion. If you are unsure about a
text, head down to the book shop and check it out.
