afaik, there is no *proper* shortcut/search string method to find anything
on the doc cd...

However, you could employ reading thru the DOC CD more often to know where
everything is, Cisco has done quite a good job in arranging *most* (not all
:) related topics in a properly branched fashion. For example, I use 12.1 or
12.2 so I would click on

- Cisco IOS configuration
- Cisco release 12.1 (or 12.2)
- Configuration guide & command references...

Here you have the list of all the major guides, now say you want to know
about NLSP, it will fall under IPX and IPX is in Cisco IOS Appletalk and
Novell IPX config guide ... if you wish to know the meaning of a particular
NLSP command, you can click on Cisco IOS Appletalk and Novell IPX Command
Reference. Same way for Bridging & DLSW, that would fall under Bridging &
IBM Networking etc.

Once I have finished studying a particular topic, I go back to the DOC
CD,and attempt to find everything that I have studied on the DOC CD. This
way, I know where/how they are *logically branched* (of course Cisco;s logic
:) and it will prolly help me find things quickly on the lab.

Just my 0.02

Nick
