RED or random early detection is a drop scheme that avoids tail drop by
randomly dropping packets when congestion is seen on the horizon. Weighted
random early detection does the same thing, but traffic can be weighted so
that certain traffic will get dropped before other types, this is done using
the IP precedence field of the packet. Take a look at this link:
