I guess I don't foresee reenlistment, I guess some military networks will
suffer. I'd hate to see some things route inefficently (bombs perhaps).

I can vouch for this, I believe the moral of the story is that the military
pays very little. Pay goes by rank, regardless of certifications or
degrees. They are CCIE's in the military, and so make just as much as
anyone else with the same rank who doesn't have a CCIE.
