It's all about the military...rank is the key.

Example:
Kevin is a Staff Sergeant, and a CCIE. The guy that works at the base gym
handing out towels is also a Staff Sergeant, so they both make approx. the
same. (Changes a little based on how long you have been in.)

The big bonus is that you can get all of the experience and education for
free. That kinda makes up for only making around 20k/yr. Although I
thought it really sucked when I was only making 6k/yr when I first enlisted.

However, I wouldn't trade those 9 years for anything...boy do I have some
stories!

Well I make about 22K (Minus consulting) a year in the AF... I'm pretty sure
that I hold the record for the lowest in history:)
