Is it normal that my BRi interface (calling side) shows the following status wh
en i use it as backup (before the primary interface goes down):
r5#sh isdn stat
Global ISDN Switchtype = basic-ni
ISDN BRI0 interface
dsl 0, interface ISDN Switchtype = basic-ni
Layer 1 Status:
DEACTIVATED
Layer 2 Status:
Layer 2 NOT Activated
TEI Not Assigned, ces = 1, state = 1(terminal down)
spid1 configured, spid1 NOT sent, spid1 NOT valid
TEI Not Assigned, ces = 2, state = 5(init)
spid2 configured, spid2 NOT sent, spid2 NOT valid
Layer 3 Status:
0 Active Layer 3 Call(s)
Active dsl 0 CCBs = 0
The Free Channel Mask: 0x80000003
Number of L2 Discards = 0, L2 Session ID = 72
The BRi on the other side (called side) show the following output:
r3#sh isdn stat
Global ISDN Switchtype = basic-ni
ISDN BRI0 interface
dsl 0, interface ISDN Switchtype = basic-ni
Layer 1 Status:
ACTIVE
Layer 2 Status:
TEI = 116, Ces = 1, SAPI = 0, State = MULTIPLE_FRAME_ESTABLISHED
TEI = 117, Ces = 2, SAPI = 0, State = MULTIPLE_FRAME_ESTABLISHED
TEI 116, ces = 1, state = 5(init)
spid1 configured, spid1 sent, spid1 valid
Endpoint ID Info: epsf = 0, usid = 2, tid = 1
TEI 117, ces = 2, state = 5(init)
spid2 configured, spid2 sent, spid2 valid
Endpoint ID Info: epsf = 0, usid = 4, tid = 1
Layer 3 Status:
0 Active Layer 3 Call(s)
Active dsl 0 CCBs = 0
The Free Channel Mask: 0x80000003
Number of L2 Discards = 0, L2 Session ID = 45
The calling side comes up and dials when i pull the cable from the primary inte
rface.
Also, are we allowed to pull the cable in the lab as this is the only way to te
st it. Shutdown on the primary interface is not a good way as far as i know
Thanks
