Yes, I agree with all of you that ^1 ?[0-9]*$ won't block AS101, AS11, etc
out. However, like I said, I apply this filter towards AS1. Since the first
AS number in the AS-path will never be 101 or 11, this filter will work
perfectly. It will allow AS1 and it direct connected AS(without prepend) as
we expected.

Yes, but if you intend to ONLY get AS 1, you will be surprised to learn
that AS 101 and 11 and anything with 1 in the front will also be allowed
through :-))
Take a look at the example from Ying and notice that AS 7018 also got
through!
