  Hi David,
I just went through this with my Pix 510.First you need to upgrade the dramm t
o 128 and the flash to 16.The 5.xx image does not fit with the default dramm an
d flash.
 1.You have to download Rawrite.exe, pix533.bin (ios), bh533.bin (boothelper)
You can download the bh.bin that is close to your image.
2.Make sure the rawrite and bh are in the same file after the download.(makes
it easier)
put the pix image in the tftp.
3.open rawrite.exe put in the file name, bh.xx.bin
4.put the floppy in the pix and rebboot.
5.in boothelper mode put interface 1 (or which is connected to tftp)
   address x.x.x.x (of the pix)
   server x.x.x.x (of tftp)
   file pix.xx.bin
   tftp
6.after it installs tell it if you are using or changing the activation key. R
emove the floppy and your done.
 7. from the 5.2 image and up you can you the copy tftp command.
I used the bh.532.bin and image pix534.bin and had no problem. It has been gre
at ever since.
  Good luck HTH
 Dan

Subject: Stupid question about how to upgrade my old PIX 520

Hi group,

I have a old pix 520 with an IOS 4.4(9). I want to upgrade it with a 5.x.
The IOS image for 5.x are bigger than 1,44 M (for on floppy). I can not use a
copy tftp to flash because not available in version 4.4(9). So I have to use
a boothelper.
My problem is that all boothelper (5.2.6/5.3.2/6.0) that I tried didn't
work. I think that I need a boothelper 4.x, but it is not available on cisco
CCO.

How can I process?

Please help me!!!!!!!!!

Thanks.
