load sharing between different routing protocols

This is something I was asked about in real life, but it's horrible
enough
that I thought I'd ask about it here.

If you give two (or more) routing protocols the same administrative
distance (including
static routes with that admin distance), can you load share between
routes learned
via different means?

I can't see that this makes much sense, as even with the same admin
distance, the
metrics won't be comparable. However, there's still the issue of which
route(s)
would be used if multiple routing protocols _were_ given the same admin
distance.

I suspect the answer is not to do this.
