I got my CCIE in August and got no support for it by my company and no raise
[still entry level pay] and nobody is really that impressed when job
searching.
It's most likely because I only had 1 year of experience when I passed the
lab, so the lesson is that if you are already a qualifier the CCIE will give
you that extra boost otherwise don't expect it to help too much in respect
to $$.
That's just my experience, I'm sure others will be different.
It's worth doing it if you can find a way to afford the expense and you love
this stuff as much as I do.
If you're only doing it for the money then that's the wrong reason IMO.
