I think the number of people passing these days are a little out of wack.
The combination of going to the one day lab last year and then adding a lot
more seats in San Jose and RTP has let a lot of people take the test that
were part of a backlog. Once the backlog gets cleared up the number of
people passing will probably slow down.

But that is only a small part of the problem. The bottom line is there just
does not seem to be any jobs out there. Employment lags any economic upturn.
So we are probably a year away at least till the job market starts to turn
around.

I have 14 years working for a stable company. My position here in Miami will
go away at the end of this year. They will offer me a position in Houston
and my family does not want to move. But I think we will have to. My first
lab try is in June. I really expect to have my ccie before year end, but if
the market does not pick up it does not look like it will make much
difference.
