Assumptions:
Your GW's are running EIGRP and CEF in addition to all of your routers.
Yes, you can load balance across the whole network. Will you get 14-16Mbps? It
depends. You should especially test throughout from Host A to Host B when per p
acket load balancing is turned on. Oftentimes, throughput will go down vs. per
destination load balancing.
You will need to tune the bandwidths at each link, and then check your metrics
at the GW. Tune Variance at the GW to make the traffic share at R1 5, R3 2, and
R2 1.
If you find per packet load balancing causes problems for you, look at MLPPP. Y
ou will max out at R5 10Mbps, R3 4Mpbs, R2 2Mbps, but the load can be spread a
cross these on a per destination basis.

Hi guys,
I need your help with the current network setup im working on.
Attached is the Network Diagram written in notepad.
Here is a brief description of the current setup.
Im using CEF and EIGRP to load balance across the network and my
goal is to attain the file transfer rate of 16Mbps from HOST A to
HOST B based on the 8E1 configured accross the WAN.
My questions are:
1. Is it possible to load balance across the network and attain at
least 14-16 Mbps transfer rate?
2. Is there a way where i can load balance the traffic from HOST A to
HOST B statistically distributed to R1, R2 and R3 dependent on the
number of E1 configured on each router?
3. Taking into consideration the fact that R1 has 5xE1, R3 has 2xE1
and R2 has 1xE1 is there a way where the gateway router will consider
that R1 has 5xE1 and will distribute approx. 60% load on it, R3 has
2xE1 and will distribute approx. 30% load and R2 has 10% load?
4. Is there any known solutions or suggestion to achieve a 16Mbps
transfer rate?
thanks,
roy reyes
