The book has its strengths and weaknesses, imo.

Strengths: The book is very well done. Each scenario has the requirements and s
teps printed once, then it has them printed again with the solution to implemen
t each step, along with a fairly thorough explanation of the solution. It also
has cut sheets at the end of the book with each step on them, and it has final
solution configs on the CD in the back of the book.

Weakness: Only one really. If you can afford to purchase the equipment necessar
y to do the labs in that book, odds are you're already making CCIE pay. Many of
the labs involve routers with 4 or more serial interfaces and 2 or more ethern
et interfaces. Most people with a home lab have one router with more than 4 ser
ial interfaces, and that's the one they use as a frame switch. I've gotten a lo
t out of just reading through the explanations for the solutions, but there are
only a few labs from the book that I can set up with the equipment I have acce
ss too.

The only other problem I have with the book is that it still covers several tec
hnologies that are no longer on the lab, ie decnet, appletalk, etc. My advice -
 don't do those =)

Has anyone gone through the labs in the McGraw Hill "All In One CCIE La
b Study Guide". The book is second edition and written by Steve Hutnik and Mike
Satterlee. I'm going to start doing the labs and would like to know if anyone
has run into errors or anything else I should be aware of.

        Thanks,
