Is the adv router IP add a directly connected interface to the router displayin
g that databse info? .... if not, is that ip address (133.10.28.0) known as Ext
ernal? ... If yes, in order to install this route in the routing table, the for
warding address must be know as O or IA, not Ex

Other thing could be that there's a netwrok-type mismatch in those interfaces .
.. check that both ends have p2p as shown in your output.

Subject: ping ok but OSPF adv router not reachable?

Can someone please explain why I can ping the advertising router but 'show
ip ospf database router' say the router is not reachable? What can I do from
here?

Thanks,
Chang

Adv Router is not-reachable <----- Why???
LS age: 8 (DoNotAge) <----- this is a virtual link
  Options: (No TOS-capability, DC)
  LS Type: Router Links
  Link State ID: 133.10.28.2
Advertising Router: 133.10.28.2 <----- ping result at the bottom
  LS Seq Number: 80000004
  Checksum: 0x89A
  Length: 48
  Area Border Router
   Number of Links: 2

Link connected to: another Router (point-to-point)
(Link ID) Neighboring Router ID: 133.10.1.1
(Link Data) Router Interface address: 133.10.2.2
      Number of TOS metrics: 0
       TOS 0 Metrics: 9999

Link connected to: a Stub Network
     (Link ID) Network/subnet number: 133.10.2.0
     (Link Data) Network Mask: 255.255.255.0
      Number of TOS metrics: 0
       TOS 0 Metrics: 9999

r4#ping 133.10.28.2 <------ No problem here.

Type escape sequence to abort.
Sending 5, 100-byte ICMP Echos to 133.10.28.2, timeout is 2 seconds:
!!!!!
Success rate is 100 percent (5/5), round-trip min/avg/max = 40/40/40 ms
