By now you may have received Sean's responde and mine, so could you try to remo
ve sync and see what happens? .... r2 wnats to get sync'ed with r3 ...
Then do a clear ip bgp * just to make sure everything will work fine and see th
a results ...
Regarding the trace Sean suggested, you may be receiving those echoes thru r1 (
is it a transit AS? ) ...
Just make sure those echo-replies come direclty from r2 and remove sync ..
Wasting my time? no way! this is not only fun but helpful ... I still have to l
earn lots about BGP and this practice will be good for my lab next week :)
