I believe VXR stands for Voice eXchange Router. If you look at any of
the docs for the VXR line, you see a lot of references to the way it can
handle switching of DS0 streams at very high speeds. And also, how it
can do it across line cards. Most of the stuff related to this router
had to do with performance in the voice arena and multimedia
multiservice in general I think.
So it is safe to say that Voice eXchange Router is the meaning of VXR.
Or you can say Very eXpensive Router! :-)
