Hi Bisham,

Just simulated the network yesterday, the following is my notes
about DLSW+ direct encapsulation. It has two types

1. direct encapsulation in Frame Relay:

a. DLSW+ Lite or LLC2 , sample config:
dlsw remote-peer 0 frame-relay interface s0/0 100
frame-relay map llc2 100 broadcast
(the above two lines have to be configured together).

b. Pass-thru , sample config:
dlsw remote-peer 0 frame-relay interface s0/0 102 pass-thru
frame-relay map dlsw 102 broadcast
(the above two lines have to be configured together).

2. direct encapsulation in HDLC:

- pass-thru only , sample config :
dlsw remote-peer 0 interface s0/0 pass-thru

To answer your question that when and why do we need
to configure "frame map dlsw" is if you need the smallest
amount of link overhead and minimal processing cycles
in the attaching routers, configure the "pass-thru" option
(this is copied from "Cisco IOS Bridging and IBM Network
Solutions" book).

Refer to the above point 1b , for pass-thru configuration`s two
lines combo , when do you need to use "frame map dlsw".

That is my memo, someone correct me if I am wrong.
