Sparse mode :
Only send the multicast traffic when the user
request.dont flood.
Dense mode:
Send the multicast traffic to all the multicast routers
and host and then proune who dont want it.
In the routed or internetwork enviroment it make sense to use sparse mode as
it consist of slow links.
U can also u dense or even the combination of both that is "ip pim
sparse-dense-mode".
I guess here u lab have used sparse so that when the router will ping
224.10.10.10 the it have to
search for that and eventually r6 should reply. if it would be dense mode
then it will be in the routing table and
also resolved....
This is my understanding .....waiting for others suggestion.....
