You need to send your ctrl ^ (ctrl shift + 6) 's in pairs for each
level down you are. if you were directly attached to the console you
would need only one ctrl ^, but when you are reverse telneted and also
telneted you are three levels down, you would need to send a ctrl ^ to
each of the devices to "escape" then your final ctrl ^ will actully
perform the "break" you needed. You will need to experiment with it to
understand what I mean. So try sending 6 ctrl ^'s and see if it works.
 Of course this all assumes that your terminal functions properly.
