For the LS1010 all you need is one statement under the interface e.g
interface atmx/x/x
atm pvc 10/100 interface atm y/y/y 20/200 (this is basically the switching sta
tement that you need)
It is done differently than on the Fore switch (where you have to configure the
pvc in both directions. On the LS1010 thi sis the only statement that you need
and it will be bi-rectional. Beware that you might configure it under one inte
rface and it will only show under the other interface (for example if you confi
gured the pvc under interface atm x/x/x but the config will show under int atm
y/y/y only) this is normal.
The mapping is only done at the edges (wher eyou map the remote layer 3 address
to the local layer 2 address. This mapping can be done in a numer of ways thou
gh. The most common is to include the map statement under the pvc configuration
mode.
Hope this helped.
regards.
Amer

Caslow's book pg. 261 shows an example of a PVC configuration on a
LightStream 1010.
Here is what he shows as an example:
interface ATM1/1/2
no keepalive
atm pvc 1 140 interface ATM1/1/1 0 140
atm pvc 1 60 interface ATM1/1/1 0 60
I would think you would have to reflect this on the other interface
ATM1/1/1, but I don't know for sure I've never done it. I'm using a For
e
systems switch.
