Did you try to configure something on the router interface like
source-bridge?

If you only have the router interfaces with a ring-speed and an IP address I
bet if you add multiring ip to the interface it will start working.

Multiring <protocol | all> is required on the Token-Ring interface when a
spanning explorer packet will need to be sent -needed if the other device is
not on the local ring. If the other device was on the same TrCRF it would
work without the multiring command, and that is why it worked before you did
anything because all ports are in TrCRF 1 to begin with.
