Except for the manual ilmi keepalive configuration this is the basic
config for both ends. If there's a PVC configured both ends should pick
it up. Assuming the routers are connected to the ports specified in the
PVC configuration on the switch ;-)
If the switch is a LS1010 this will do it. If not, I'm not much help.
Good luck. Frank

Subject: VPI/VCI Autodiscovery Procedure - HELP!
Guys/Gals,
I am not sure if the ATM switch I am using is capable of VPI/VCI
autodiscovery. I tried the config below and it never worked. If
you have done this before, I will highly appreciate your response
to these questions. My test is a couple of days away!
Thanks !!!
1. Will the config below work in discovering the VPI/VCI, if not what
wil work.
2. Do I need the "atm pvc 1 0 5 qsaal"?
3. Do I need to always set the "atm ilmi-keepalive". I don't
discover the prefix for the nsap address if I don't enable
the keep-alive. What value should it be set to?
4. What is the show command to see the discovered VPI/VCI? Is it
"show atm ilmi-status"?
R1:
conf t
interface ATM4/0
ip address 10.10.10.1 255.255.255.0
atm ilmi-keepalive 10
pvc 0/16 ilmi
atm ilmi-pvc-discovery
!
exit
#show atm ilmi-status
R2:

ip address 10.10.10.2 255.255.255.0
atm ilmi-keepalive 10
pvc 0/16 ilmi
atm ilmi-pvc-discovery
!
exit
#show atm ilmi-status
