Jason:
Cisco 2500 series routers don't support 4/4 for drams ... your message
reads drams and then reads flash ... which are are you talking about ?? The fl
ash memory, which has two slots available, supported is the following:
4 mb - or -
4mb and 4 mb for a total of 8 mb of flash - or -
8 mb flash simm - or -
8 mb and 8 mb flash for a total of 16 mb flash simms
Flash is not so cheap but I have seen 8 mb flash simms on ebay for around 35.00
a piece. Good luck with getting anyone to give it away. Everybody needs more
flash memory.
If you are actually looking for dram then the 2500 only has one slot for memory
and supports the following
4 mb dram memory - or -
8 mb dram memory - or -
16 mb dram memory
Dram is cheap - 16 mb dram on ebay is usually about 20.00 - standard 72-pin 36-
bit parity based fast-page mode (FPM) 80 ns memory which is the same type of me
mory used in a lot of old 386 and 486 computers.
You can also check www.crucial.com for new dram or new flash memory if you don'
t want used. But nothing ever seems to be free anymore.
Best of luck.

Subject: OT: Wanted - OLD 2500 Memory
I am teaching at the local tech-college and have a bunch of old 2500s that
need memory upgrades.
They currently have 4/4 installed. Does anyone have any old 4Meg flash simms
or 8meg DRAM simms that they would like to donate? If I can get them to 8/8
it would greatly increase the versions of IOS I can run.
I need to upgrade 15 total routers.
I have a $0.00 budget. However, I do have a nice home rack that I might be
willing to share with those who can come up with a few pieces of DRAM/FLASH.
Thanks for your assistance.
