Hello,
Nortel supports protocol based vlan which when assigned to a port only
allow that traffic to come into the port. One port can belong to more than
one protocol base vlan. On Cisco catalyst 4006 with a Sup II, is there a
similar type of vlan, or do you have to set the protocol membership of
each port so that it filters base on the protocol. Can you somehow assign
multiple protocol base vlan on one port on the Cat 4006? Do you need
special hardware to do this on Catalyst 4006?
I also need some explanation on Private Vlans, the promiscuous, isolated
and community ports. I cannot understand the explanation on CCO.
Can someone help me answer this question? Thankyou in advance.
