A normal token ring interface need to go throught the selt test and ring insert
ion state.
At min, yr need a loopback test connector.
You can build a loopback connector with the following components.
UTP
pin 3 -+-C-+- 5
+-R-+
pin 4 -+-C-+- 6
+-R-+
R//C
R = 3.9K 1/4 watt
C = 0.01 to 0.1 uuf

Subject: Token Ring interface spoof
All,
Any way to get a Token ring interface on a 25xx to go up/up without
connecting it to anything? Bascially the equivalent of "no keepalive" on
an Ethernet??
Thanks,
David
