The virtual link command stretches area 0 across your area 1 to your Router4.
If you go to R4 and do "sh ip ospf" I think you will see it now has areas 1, 55
 and 0. I think you need to put a key on your virtual link, like:

area 1 virtual-link x.x.x.x message-digest key 1 md5 cisco
