Hansang,
I am loading new IOS images to a couple of my routers after installing new flas
h cards. After
booting up, they all went into the rommon mode. I've setup a tftp server and us
ed tftpdnld
feature. Two of them went well, images were downloaded to the routers' flash an
d booted up
successfully. Others just couldn't download the images from tftp server. after
turning on tftpdnld
verbose, I found they all failed to see the tftp server in the download process
, giving msgs like
"arping 10.1.1.1 (tftp server's ip), .....failed". This seemed strange because
all have the same
configs as the two successful routers, all the enthernet interfaces are plugged
into a default
unvlanned switch. reading the verbose tftpdnld command output, I can tell that
all the initial
configs for ethernet interface were going fine, until it tried to contact the t
ftp server, and
failed during arp process. How come these routers couldn't connect with tftp se
rver while the
other that had exact the same setup had no problem? TIA...
