Guys,
Just came back from RTP. It was my second attempt. Some reason, my earlier
email about my 1st attempt didn't make it to the server. I am enclosing it
too. Started the lab at 7.30am and I was done by 1.30pm. As I didn't want to
repeat the same mistake, checked my work twice, thrice but I couldn't sit
there after 2.30pm. When I told the proctor that I was done, he asked me to
wait and he started checking my work. Around 3.30pm, he came to me and said
"Congratulations" with my number which made my drive back home (to Philly) a
pleasant one :-)

My first attempt was on Jan., 29th. This time I took it easy, didn't touch the
rack but only the last weekend.

I started my cisco journey in Nov 1998 (CCNA). Then I passed CCNP, CCDP just
by reading books (paper certification). Then I got a job where I could get
hands-on. Passed written in Sept., 2000. Last 18 months, I spent tens of
hundreds of hours on the rack.

As everybody mentioned earlier, I used same study materials. Just to add to
that, I practiced all sample configs on CCO TAC and technical tips which
helped me a lot.

You guys are great and I wouldn't have done it without this group. I have been
a member of this group since Nov, 1998 (was on general certification group
till Sept. 2000). But most of the time, I was in the passive mode. Now it is
payback time and will try to contribute more :-)

Thanks,
Mannan

Subject: First attempt - My experience

Guys,
Just came back from RTP. I didn't make it:-(

When I went through the Lab questions for the first time, I was so happy as I
had done those things hundred times before and could solve those tricks in my
sleep. I felt CCbootcamp labs were harder than the real one and I had
practiced all CCbootcamp labs dozen times.

Then I started finishing the sessions one by one. By 3.00pm I was done (for
couple of things I had to refer CD) except one session. Then I was so
confident, I didn't bother to check the configs. Then next 30 mins., I built
my own scenario to test the session I was not sure about and fixed it (I got
100% in that session :-).

As I was driving back to hotel, I started realizing the mistakes I made and
things I left out.

I think I was over-confidence about things which got me as I could configure
those stuff in my sleep.

LEARNT : Check your work again and again till you leave....

I wanted to go back the very next day but they won't let me....

Kicking myself,
Mannan
