Ok i've done this,
I've put a 8meg chip on each router, i've broken the partirtions and they
all say to have 16 Meg but after i load the IOS and the roouter boots i get
this:
%Error: System flash bank 1 chip 0 unknown, chip id 0xB803 (reversed =
0x1DC0)
%Error: System flash bank 1 chip 1 unknown, chip id 0x101 (reversed =
0x8080)
%Error: System flash bank 1 chip 2 unknown, chip id 0x101 (reversed =
0x8080)
%Error: System flash bank 1 chip 3 unknown, chip id 0x101 (reversed =
0x8080)
and after i do a "show flash ship i only see bank 0
Any idea anybody?

Change the configuration register value to have the router boot from BOOT
... in this mode, the flash becomes Read/Write.
You can use the conf reg value 0x1.
router(config)# config-register 0x1
router# reload
router<(boot)># sh ver
.
.
.
16384K bytes of processor board System flash (Read/Write)
Upgrade the router, change back the conf reg value to 0x2102, reload the
router and that's it.
