if u know something about electronics and had worked on PCBs then u can
check it ur self.
There are 2 identical RS232 ICs just by the serial ports. It will not
written as RS232 as 232 is the generic name.
When u spot then , check these ICs with a prob. ... but first donwload the
datasheet of these ICs from manufarturer
website. when done with logic check the ICs if they are giving
inputs/outputs.
Usually these ICs get burnt.
Cisco had used very cheap ICs in there old boxs... that when it cant bear
tempurature below 0 centrigrate.
Now in new routers and switches they are using that can also work in high
and low tempuratures.
These are also the chips that are placed on consoles and aux. Mates also
gets these problems when there consoles
are not working.
I am not complaining CISCO .... sorry for that !! Mr. Cisco if ur reading
this.
