Hello guys, I appreciate the info you sent me about NLSP .... It really helped
a lot!!
Now I know NLSP, at least the bassics, BUT I still have a doubt about the
"area-address" command ... I just set a lab with IPX - NLSP and put all the
routers interfaces in area-address 0 0 which works just fine .... the point is
how should I use the "area-address" command in order to include only some IPX
interfaces and not all of them with "area-add 0 0"?
I know the commad says:
area-adress <network-number> <mask>
but how do I use the "mask" part? .... For example, I have one interface with
IPX netw A34, so I would think of configuring this interface within NLSP as
"area-address A34 FFFFF000" since the network part is 8-hex numbers long and
so is the mask portion. So, A34 would be 00000A34 and its mask FFFFF000 (the
last three hex numbers set to "0" so I can "match" just the three last hex
numbers of the network portion).
After trying so, I get this message:
R4(config-ipx-router)#area-address A34 FFFFF000
%NLSP: Mask inconsistent with network
What am I doing wrong? ... I think NLSP area-address command does not work
that way .... could someone please clarify and explain to me how I should
apply the mask for that IPX network only?
TIA !!
