Subject: RE: Halifax Proctors.
Steve
I took my 2nd attempt in Halifax on 1st Nov, for the same reasons. Brussels
was full, yet Halifax had plenty of places. The proctor we had (Stephen
Barnes) was good and very approachable.
I stayed at the Cambridge Suites Hotel, which is only a 5 min walk to the
building, and more importantly is at the top of the hill from the sea-front!
Nice hotel, good bar and restaurant attached, although there are plenty of
places to eat. I got out there on the Tuesday, for my lab on the Thursday,
then flew back on the Friday evening.
Cost wise it is silly. I get the Eurostar to Brussels which costs #298, yet
the flight to Halifax was #335. Hotels are just as cheap, if not cheaper,
and there is far more to do and see in Halifax than the Brussels airport
hotel area! (Keith's Brewery, the Citadel, Maritime Museum, bars, shops -
not that I saw them all!)
If I could, I would have taken my next attempt there, but unfortunately I
managed to get a date in Brussels!
Don't forget they use SPIDs over there!

Subject: Halifax Proctors.
Chaps,
Anyone been to Halifax to sit the 1 day lab, I am thinking of travelling to
Canada from the UK to sit the lab as Brussells is stupidly busy (it is also
cheaper to fly to Canada than Brussels from the UK !!!!).
I was wondering about the facilities like hotels etc etc and also what the
proctors are like on site i.e approachable etc etc...
Any help would be good.
Ta
Steve
