input-address-list vs output-address-list

After reading cisco doc, I have an impression that input-address-list and
output-address-list can be used exchangeably in filtering perspective cos
they are refering to the same thing. Pls correct if I'm wrong.

Here are the direct quotes:

Use the bridge-group group output-address-list interface subcommand to
assign an access list to a particular interface for filtering the Ethernet
or IEEE 802.3 "destination" addresses of packets that would ordinarily be
"forwarded out" that interface.

Use the bridge-group group input-address-list interface subcommand to assign
an access list to a particular interface for filtering on the Ethernet or
IEEE 802.3 "source" addresses of packets "received" on that interface.
