Most certainly is!

If you connect them back to back via a T1 cross-over cable then you can
only practice ATM PVCs.

For SVCs you need an ATM switch with SVC call control processor and dual
T1 ATM interfaces.

I currently have a pair with the mft-T1/E1 re-configure as an E1 i/f (go
into ROMMON to change it). This does not matter to the ATM side of
things.

Config extract

        controller E1 0

         clock source internal

         mode atm

        interface ATM0

         ip address 172.31.69.9 255.255.255.0

         no atm ilmi-keepalive

         pvc 0/101

          protocol ip 172.31.69.6 broadcast

          encapsulation aal5nlpid

         !

Remember if you do not have an ATM switch then the vpi/vci must match at
both ends ie you must use the same at both ends.

eg rtr-A
        pvc 0/101

   rtr-B
        pvc 0/101
