I actually used an awl (basically a dart) and slowly pryed it out from
corner to corner. Works really well.

and are designed to do the job perfect.
I have also used the eye-glass screwdriver method and can not recommend
it
as it does stress the socket. While I have been able to upgrade routers
with the screw-driver, for $10 dollars you can have the RS tool and do

job correct.
