Sorry for the OT post, but I've been searching around on CCO and haven't found
any definitive answers yet...
Is there a way to have an IP address assigned to a router's subinterface via
DHCP? I have the option to do this on the physical interface on a 2620, but
once I set this interface to trunk using ISL, I can only manually enter the IP
address on the subinterfaces. I'd like one of the subinterfaces to connect to
my cable modem and the other for my internal hosts.
If this isn't a possibility in an upcoming rev of code, I can always add a
second physical Ethernet interface, which leads me to my next question. I
know that I can add the NM-1E module, but I am curious is anyone knows if the
WIC-1ENET module will work in this thing. I've found some hardware notes
under the 2600's, but they really seem to talk just about the 1700 series
routers and it never really explicitly mentions that this module works in on
the 2600 / 3600 series

would be a much cheaper option than the NM-1E.
