ICMP redirect -- CCBootcamp lab 1

I have another quesion in regards to CCBootcamp Lab 1:

If we will "fine tune" L3 routing with policy routing on spokes
to send packets from r2 to r3 via r1 (hub) it will cause r1 to
generate ICMP redirect.

Is it considered ok?

Also, in what circumstances, routers are accepting ICMP redirects,
and taking a hint to send packets directly to suggested gateway?

Please see following debug output:
22:50:07: ICMP: redirect sent to 10.10.1.2 for dest 10.10.1.3, use gw
10.10.1.3
22:50:08: ICMP: redirect sent to 10.10.1.3 for dest 10.10.1.2, use gw
