RIP holddown timer

Hi all,

IGRP holddown timer works as expected!!!

With RIP I see a strange behaviour in my lab...

When the route is invalidated (possibly down in RT) there's a gap of 60
seconds until the flush timer expires when the route is advertised with
metric 16 (unreachable) and the router does not accept new updates for that
particular route (holddown). However, once the route is flushed, the router
accepts a new metric for the route and reintroduces the route into the RT.

If holddown should be 180 secs, why stops when the route is flushed (at 60
secs)?

With IGRP makes sense cause holddown is less than the difference between
invalid and flush.

Thanks,

Federico
