Running HSRP with IPX
Question: Can you run HSRP with IPX? Where can I find a sample
configuration?

Answer:

Are wanting to know if you can configure IPX and HSRP on the same interface,
or are you trying to get a IPX to use HSRP? HSRP is a IP technology (two
router interfaces sharing the same IP address), so IPX has nothing to do
with HSRP. The IPX protocol does not have the same problem that IP does in
that it does not require you to manually configure the routers address in
the client. IPX addresses already contain the MAC address, so IPX has no
concept of ARP. The client''s find the routers by sending a GNS and RIP
request out, and the first "router" to respond is the router that client
will use. So, there is no need for a HSRP type technology for IPX.IF you
wanted to configure IPX and HSRP (seperate features independent ofeach
other) on the same interface, then yes you can do this with no problems.
