This is from a 2525 running 12.0(9), so you can put an IP
address on using this IOS, but I have another 2525 running
12.2 that you cannot do it on, so it seems to be IOS
dependent. If you load up 12.0(9) it should work for you.

interface TokenRing0
 ip address 10.10.15.1 255.255.255.0
 no ip directed-broadcast
 shutdown
!
interface BRI0
 no ip address
 no ip directed-broadcast
 shutdown
!
interface Virtual-TokenRing1
 ip address 10.10.10.10 255.255.255.0
 no ip directed-broadcast
 ring-speed 16
!
ip classless
!

line con 0
 transport input none
line aux 0
line vty 0 4

end

~I have found that if you have a Token Ring interface on the
~router and you
~define a virtual token ring interface you can not assign an IP address.
~HTH....
