I've got a hub&spoke topology with dumb terminals on the remotes and the
server at the core. Some remotes have PCs running terraterm emulation as
well. At the remote site, the dumb terminals are terminating on a
standalone digiserver. The digiserver interfaces via a serial port to a
1600-->frame relay-->core server. Were upgrading the WAN from 19k leased
lines to 128k Frame.
I don't usually see this, so my understanding of this layer2 serial stuff is
cloudy. I am unclear as to how the 1600 router that I have spec'd out is
going to interface with the digiserver. The digiserver has RJ-45 type
interfaces on it. I plan on STUN Basic or STUN SDLC to work if DLSw doesn't
(fingers crossed.) Any IBM guru's out there know what questions I might ask
of the customer to ensure that I provision the proper hardware? If I need
to interface with an rj-45 type digiserver, does Cisco make a special serial
to rj-45 serial cable?
Thanks for the assistance.
