On the Cat modular switches the mac address portion of the bridge ID is taken f
rom the 1024 Mac addesses on the supervisor. If you do a "show module" you wel
l see that the range starts at last byte 00. Vlan 1 takes that address, vlan 2
takes the next one, 01, Vlan 3 takes the next, 02, etc. This becomes an issue
with the newer code that allows for 4000+ vlans and leads to the "mac address
reduction" feature.
