I always do this on the spokes,
1. shut the serial interface
2. configure "ip osp pri 0"
3. configure "ip osp net xx"
3. configure 'no fram inv' incase I am not using IARP
4. configure ospf network statement
5. then bring up the phy. interface
Once you use to it, you don't miss (mess) anything.
