I have R1, R2, R3 in a frame relay network
R1 & R3 are using point-to point sub interface
R2 is using the physical inter face
On R2 the IARP maps the two remote IP
>From R2 I can ping R1 & R2
But I canot ping its own ip address
I understand that there should be a static map to do
this
So I put in a static map command with the local ip
address and the DLCI that is used for R1
Know I have three map in the show frame relay map 2
are dynamic a 1 is static
two with DLCI 201 and 1 with DLCI 203
All is good I can ping all the three ip address from
R2 now
But after I relod the IARP for the R1 DLCI doest not
get installed
So there is only two map in the show frame relay map
One is dynamic ( 203 ) and the other one is the static
one with its own ip address (201)
Now I cannot ping the R1 router from R2
When I remove the static map from R2 then the IARP
installs the R1 map dynamically with (201)

The observation was that if R2 install the dynamic
IARP to R1 first and then I add the static map using
the local ip address and the same DLCI ( 201) all
works good
But if I Install the static map for its own ip address
first then the IARP does not install a dynamic map
with the remote ip address and the same DLCI (201)

In the books it is when u have a static map then the
IARP is only disabled for the DLCI used and for only
that IP address only

But here I have a static map with the local ip address
and want IARP to resolve the remote ip address to the
same DLCI (201)

Can some one help me on this

TIA
Bhisham
